Endings, Beginnings, Gratitude and Podcasting

The end? The beginning?

The New Year can be a time of excitement, anxiety, FOMO and more. For ME… I decided several years ago to skip the usual holiday hoopla and focus on creating rituals for myself that mean something.

I’ll share one of those rituals below AND some voice gratitude from community members (both podcasters and listeners) but first… an announcement!

Thank you for being a loyal listener of Podcast Envy — I LOVE making this show for you and when I started it last year, it was with the intention of growing my podcast production, consulting and coaching business, The Creative Impostor Studios, and that has happened! Wow!

I can barely keep up and that is while I’ll be dropping back to publishing episodes every other week, rather than weekly. However, there is ONE way you can still get weekly content from me and that is by becoming a Podcast Angel!

Podcast Angels directly support this show and the content that I offer for FREE on this podcast and now YOU can become one, dear podcaster,  with the Podcast Envy VIP Circle…

FREE class in Chicago: Is My Business Ready for a Podcast?

Join me at Next Door Chicago Thursday January 29th!

Whether you are a solo entrepreneur, a small business leader, or a team member in a bigger organization, podcasting is a  popular trend for making connections, developing brand loyalty, and influencing social impact. You have a golden opportunity to influence listeners and get your message heard through one of the most powerfully intimate forms of media that exists today. But how do you know whether a podcast is right for you and your company?  What will it take to stand out from the thousands of shows that already exist? What do you need to be ready to start?

6:30-8:00pm @ Next Door Chicago

In this episode…

I’m sharing my favorite New Year’s Eve ritual.

Take out a piece of paper and number it from 1-108 (you can make 2 columns, use front & back, multiple sheets, or a REALLY big piece of paper.)

Now write down 108 things from the year that is ending for which you are grateful! It can be people, places, things, experiences, lessons learned, moments in time… anything goes!

Top of MY gratitude list this year — PODCASTING!

I invited our community to weigh in on WHY they are grateful for podcasts and you’ll hear what they have to say from both a listening perspective and a producing perspective!

I’ll give you some hints…

Learning, fresh perspectives, community, self-expression, fulfilling childhood dreams, sharing experiences, confidence, self-identify, and more.

Personally, I started podcasting because I HAD to.

It was never something I imagined I’d be doing — I didn’t even know what it WAS until maybe 2012, but it came to me at a time in my life when I was LOW. I had to close my first business, I was bankrupt, depressed, didn’t want to go back to a full-time job, had no resources to start a new business and didn’t even know who I was anymore.

But podcasting helped me rediscover all of that and more.

So here I am now, with a business I love, building community with you, expressing myself in a super rewarding way with a ton of autonomy and creativity. So thank YOU, for being part of that!
