CI119: Tap into the abundance of energy, Shannon Harris

It’s sort of like using frequency as a pharmacy.

It’s not a stretch to say that travel is a form of self-care. Think about it; a weekend getaway has as much potential to refresh as does a month-long retreat. All the familiar elements are at play in one form or another – relaxation, exploration, fun – ready to be accessed by body and soul.

As this series transitions from unusual travel paths to uncommon self-care, it’s not a stretch to say that Shannon Harris is the perfect person to help bridge the gap. Shannon’s a musician, DJ, world traveler, educator, Qi Gong practitioner, and mastermind behind Audio Pharmacology™.

What the…? You got it right if you’re thinking sound as medicine.

Podcasting? Apply for the 2021 Podcast Envy Pro Pod

I am currently taking applications to join our first curated cohort of professionals who podcast (not necessarily professional podcasters) from a variety of entrepreneurial and content creative backgrounds. The vision is 10-12 pros coming together for a monthly strategy session to solve your most pressing questions around growth, sustainability, craft and culture.

This program is for creative business leaders within any industry or niche with at least 6 months podcasting experience. We will not be covering the basics of “how to podcast,” rather deeper topics for which you can’t just Google the answer or post in a Facebook Group.

There’s an abundance of energy that’s neither created nor destroyed. How do you manage it? How do you tap into that?

~Shannon Harris

For his part, Shannon defines his trademarked phrase as “using frequency as a pharmacy.” By tapping into the science of sound, he harnesses frequencies associated with the body’s systems. Acupuncturists enlist needles to impact the body’s energy flow; Shannon works with music. The goal of each is the same: to positively impact organs, brainwaves, muscles, chakras, tissue, etc.

Tonal work is a traditional eastern modality. Here in the West, the practice is finally gaining wider acceptance as a viable option for therapeutic self-care and cellular-level healing.

To further his self-directed, sound-centric education, Shannon’s made travel a priority. Before the pandemic, he gigged around the globe, using his downtime to learn from local elders and spiritual leaders. The pilgrimages fostered in him a desire to give back and Assist Society, Shannon’s non-profit, was formed.

These days, he’s sticking closer to home. While he waits for the world to reopen, Shannon’s putting the finishing touches on a project that’s near to my heart: an immersive experience tailored to the needs of Chicago public school students.
